Simon graduated from Loughborough Univeristy in Engineering Science and also holds a Diploma in Marketing from UWE. In a twenty five year international management career that has spanned most aspects of business, Simon has worked for Rolls Royce, Lloyd Instruments plc, Electrotech International and, in 1988, was recruited by Group Training and Management Development for HSBC in Hongkong. During his time at HSBC he was responsible for the design and global facilitation of a wide range of business finance and strategic marketing programmes, as well as working as an internal consultant to the directors of HSBC subsidiaries.
On returning from Hongkong in 1991 he formed the Simon Kelly Partnership, with the sole aim of helping directors and managers improve the performance of their business by increasing their financial awareness and understanding. Simon works with public and private companies across a broad range of industry sectors including manufacturing, retailing, logistics and financial services. Simon has gained a reputation for delivering practical, fun and memorable management learning through tailored workshops and executive coaching designed to balance the individual learning needs of the individual with the achievement of business goals.
Simon offers a series of core workshops, which can all be tailored to suit the specific financial learning needs and business issues of Academy members. All workshops utilise a combination of engaging input, topical and relevant examples and practical case studies to firmly plant the learning in each member's real world of managing finance within an owner-managed business. Throughout all workshops, members will be provided with practical and usable tools, tactics and techniques designed to allow the rapid implementation of new techniques in the workplace. As a result of attending, members will be able to make a clear connection between their day to day operational decisions and how they affect the financial performance of their business. Combined with their existing skills, these workshops will help members develop into well-rounded and commercially astute leaders.
