It's easy to get distracted by day-to-day events and lose sight of your overall long term goals.
So each year the CEO group take themselves away from their normal working lives and spend a two day retreat together, where the sole focus is on the bigger picture – and planning the future.
Each member presents their plans and goals for the forthcoming year to the rest of the group. These goals not only include a business plan but also their personal goals for the year. The idea is that together, this peer group of business leaders will question and help clarify each others aims and objectives, stretching targets and suggesting new possibilities.
As well as being able to see how different CEOs plan for their businesses, the goals which are then mutually agreed for each member during the retreat form a basis for comparison and progress throughout the year. Knowing you’ll be held to account by your peers adds an extra incentive to maintain your focus in the face of temporary distractions!
